Petsmart Charities Disaster Grant – Grant secured to provide roughly $700 worth of pet food, kitty litter, and pet supplies for the Franklin’s Promise Food Bank in Apalachicola, Florida during the declared disaster of Ockchlocknee Bay closed to shrimp and oyster fishing.

2011

American Society for the Preventions of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) – $1,350 grant to cover tuition to the Disaster Animal Response Team training for 10 local Animal Control Officers.

2008

Social Services Block Grant – Grant from Florida Department of Children and Families to reimburse agencies and organizations affected by Tropical Storm Faye. DART operated a pet-friendly shelter for the American Red Cross at the designated special needs shelter, and received some of this grant money in reimbursement $65 for supplies bought during this sheltering event.

2006

Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) – $1,000 grant to build capacity to respond to large disasters. Purpose was to buy a used trailer for storing crates and supplies so the team could deploy to disasters with their equipment.

American Society for the Preventions of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) – $1,000 grant to equip the DART trailer with an air conditioning unit so it could be used to transport animals from an evacuated area or a disaster.

Capital City Bank Group Community Grant – $500 to purchase a generator for the trailer to run the air conditioning and lights when deploying.
